I have a Curtis Mathis Entertainment System called the Townsend. It is like new, ecept it was manufactured in 1965 . Not a scratch on it. Also have ALL OrIGINAL paperwork , and sales receipt $619.95 Way back then.. I think it is worth more today Model 62m051

Hello. I just scored a 1961 Royal Dane. But...the tuner knob is stuck (dial cord not connected - and who knows what else is wrong; and the record player isn't working either - so I have some work to do). I have the original manual for the Record Player (which includes a parts list), but I do not have any information about the Tuner. Do you, or any of your members have it? I'd love a copy, and will pay a reasonable price, or even trade for a copy of the Record Player Manual. Any help you can give me is much, much appreciated. ~Tory (Victoria)

How am I able to get my mom's video tape out of my Curtis Mathes Monitor VCR (the model of it is AV132)? A video tape is stuck inside my mom's VCR (I tried to use the eject button to get it out , but it didn't work). How do I get it out?

I love this site... and I love old electronics... the smell of an old vacuum tube stereo... all nice and warm... the soft glow from the tubes... and incomparable sound from a time when a stereo was a work of art. Sometimes it seems like our hi-tech age has taken the soul out of hi-fi, but if you connect your iPod to your old CM console, you'll find it's still there. I have a 1963 CM "Westmoreland" Model 5429... bought it from the original owner's daughter. After a few minor repairs, everything still works; but the best part is this: I bought a Bluetooth audio receiver and connected it to one of the unused stereo inputs... Now I can play anything on iTunes from the comfort of my sofa recliner... Hi-tech convenience meets soulful hi-fi sound... it's magical. I enjoy my console, but I'm not a fan of its French Provincial styling... I frequently daydream about finding a Royal Dane at an estate sale in perfect condition with a sweet price tag.

I was recently given a Mathes model MD1412 MHG. I found your website and was impressed with your passion for these products. I didn't know what to think of this console at first.I grew up in the 70's and I remember the console's of that era. I guess what caught my attention was the back panel. It was this glossy striped Mahogany. Most companies would use some cheap materials on the back of a piece. Then I realized that it wasn't veneer but a sheet of Mahogony. The entire console is solid mahogany (except the legs painted brown. I am beyond impressed with the quality of my Mathes hifi.

I am looking for a schematic for a circa 1955 Watterson model 530 - like the one in the photograph on your first page. Dave
